Pithy quotes summarize profound truths in memorable ways. One is able to retain the essence of a truth when it is presented in a context whereby memory is aided. Using a Christian worldview, these editors have compiled a substantial amount of wisdom and framed it in a format that helps one in referring back to it. The format of the book is the compilation of quotes from people covering a 100 year period. The power of the written word is reinforced in this collection. Contributors are people who have left their mark. Regardless of age or background this collection has something of value to add to the quality of anyone's life.

I'm suspicious of cheesy quote books, but this book isn't fluff. It's a profound and poetic collection, great to read before bedtime or peruse whenever.

I read this book with my children, not only to give them a sense of the timeline of the last century, but also to give them an appreciation of our spiritual lives, and the spiritual lives of our leaders and newsmakers. These are quotes that aren't typically found in their history textbooks.

As we read about the Wright brother's flight in 1903, we thought about how much has changed. And as we read about the work of Mother Teresa late in the century, we realized how little has changed.

We read some famiiar voices and some that were new to us, but always voices that inspired and challenged us.

This isn't a book that we have read and placed on a shelf, we go back to it again and again.

This book was written entirely by Kelly Angle. Wm. Grandmill had nothing to do wth this book, and this book does not use Grandmill's principles. If you want material by Grandmill go to some of his other books.

What Kelly Angle wrote is reasonable decent. It is primarily about his father's trading in Gold Futures.

This book deals more with 'investing' rather than 'traading' as such it uses a more longer-term approach to making money in the grain futures and options markets. If you want a long term plan with say 2-3 trades for theyear, then this book might be helpful to you. It is not suitable to the active commodities 'trader' who maybe involved in swing trading etc.

I really found this book to be a superb combination of practically and vision. It is a great read, precise and thought provoking. It makes you really want to jump out of your seat and participate in the creation of the future. One really important point among many is that we cannot move forward, adapt and be innovative by relaying on the past as a point of reference. The only way to really be successful and prosperous is by dropping our old parameters, learning from future and applying it to the present. I have read this book twice. I highly recommend it to those who do not want some else eating their cheese. I look forward to Mr. Grulke next book.

'Ten Lessons from the Future' is the ideal books to help MBA students conceptualize the challenges of the future and to break open the prison of contemporary thinking. Grulke's first hand knowledge of trends that will shape the next decade, as well as his keen synthesis on how disruptive technology will shape the future makes this book one of the best business books on the shelf. Any predication of the future is precarious at best, but Grulke paradoxically paints a believable picture of an increasingly fractal environment. This book needs to be compulsory reading at any Business School who wishes to prepare their students for the challenges of the future.

This book was a bit of a disappointment to me. Alot of the 'facts' seem more like opinions than actual research. Still, I figured that with 1001 different headings, there'd be plenty covered that I'd not seen before, right?

Well, there's about 20something entries about paintings with angels, 80 about modern books (from Anne Rice to George Bernard Shaw)and about 60 more entries on TV and movies. There's also about 100+ entries on just 'sayings' that mention angels.

So this book is not as much about "answering questions" about Angels and Demons as much as it is an encyclopedia for cross referencing mentions of them.

It wasn't, unfortunately, what I was looking for.

This is not a great book, but it's a lot of fun and you can learn a lot about the views of Christians and others on the Afterlife and supernatural things in general. The author is undoubtedly a conservative Christian, but if you think conservative Christians don't have a sense of humor, I think Mr. Lang will do a good job of proving you wrong. I don't think you need to put this on your must-read list. It probably won't convert many skeptics or strengthen the faith of many believers, but if you're looking for a good read and not an exhaustive treatment of the subject matter, I don't think this book will disappoint you. And furthermore, if the author came up with a sequel called 1,001 More Things You've Always Wanted to Know About Angels, Demons, and the Afterlife, I'd probably buy it.

There are probably hundreds of books on angels, demons, heaven, and hell, but this one has all the vital information in one place. In this "tidbit" format, you get about one paragraph on each item, so it's easy to read and digest. I never knew there was so much to learn about the Bible's view of angels and demons. The book also looks at our current obsessions with these topics and how the secular view often differs radically from the Bible's view. The sections on the afterlife are excellent.
