Not an interesting take on marketing
This book lives up to neither its "one-day" promise nor its claim to help you organize and complete a plan that works.

The problem? Lack of examples. The worksheets are utterly blank, and the text speaks in vague, hand-waving generalities. Because of this substance gap, the book is hard to use to the point of being completely unhelpful.

The obvious audience for this book is people who are new to marketing, and certainly people who are new to writing marketing plans. And if those people are purchasing a book to help them step-by-step, it is generally because they don't have access to an existing marketing plan that they can work from and modify. Those people won't be helped by this book; they won't have any way to figure out what they should fill in in the very blank worksheets.

That said, I can think of a circumstance for which this book might be genuinely helpful: if you have an existing marketing plan, and you're trying to figure out if there are things that you've missed, the lists of questions that different sections of your plan should answer would be a good way to test completeness.

But overall, I found the book extremely disappointing.

Far better guides to marketing can be had in books like "Crossing the Chasm" (which provides a great conceptual basis from which to start).

total waste of money. DON'T BUY IT.
I only gave 1 star because they won't let you give no stars. This type of trading book goes under the genre of 'very expensive because theoretically, you can get your money back by making just one winning trade.' Don't fall for it: this book (at app. $1.00 per page!) is absolute and total rubbish. Basically, it tells you to look for a stock making a 20 day high, then after a one day pause, enter the breakout on the so called 'trigger' day. But get this: on page 22, the author(s) make the following stunning admission and I quote: "As you can see, this method is simple and easy to identify. Here is the catch: Most trigger days will never occur. This is one of the keys."

Can you believe that?? If most trigger days NEVER occur, then what the heck are you looking for? The authors provide some arcane and screwy explanation, saying that you are looking for many small trades with minimal losses and app. 1 in 6 or so trades will work. Aha, so that's the KEY? (LOL). Hey, aren't we ALL looking for many small trades with minimal losses? Problem is, tradiung is an extremely difficult and complex thing to do, thousands of books have been written on the subject, and the above method is surely not THE ONE.

As if this isn't bad enough, the book is poorly written with very weak and incomplete examples. For example, the so called 20 day high, pause and trigger days are shown by a series of seemingly random OHCL bars, but what exactly are we looking for here? Dojis, high-low, low-high bars and in what sequence? Also, no examples of securities with precise entry points in terms of price are given.

Readers should always be extremely wary of home grown trading books (this one appears to be self-published), written by folks without established financial credentials trying to snag a quick buck from information-hungry or novice traders. Truly shameful.

Simple 1-Day Strategy
The book is only 40 pages, but it gives the reader and in-depth explanation of one trading strategy. Setups for this strategy don't occur on an everyday basis, so you can't use this strategy for your everyday trading. What I really liked is how the explanations of this one strategy taught me to look at specific components of trading setups and helped me develop and track my own trading strategies. Not great, but very good.

Good Strategy to Trade With
Simplicity. There is nothing like it. I have often thought that the simplest method can often yield the best results in all areas of life. This strategy is no different. For those of you with backgrounds in technical trading, I think that you will really appreciate what this book has to offer. Folks who are not familiar with moving averages and bar charts may not be able to fully appreciate the power of this simple strategy. In any case, if you need a strategy that will help you find trading opportunities day-in and day-out, then you should give this book a good, long look.

Recomended
I found this book very interesting. It opened my eyes to a wide gammet of possibilities even though not all of them applied to me personally. At times the content deviated from that implied by the title, but it was always connected in some way. I would would recomend this book to anyone considering improvement of their financial position in life.

Great for Brainstorming Profitable Ideas
Lilly Walters has assembled a collection of terrific ways to create new income streams, get more bookings, generate publicity and more. The book is a series of short tips and ideas that got my brain popping. A quick perusal left my copy dotted with sticky notes marking pages containing ideas I can use now and in the future. I am currently working through the book, a section at a time, putting the tips into action.

Although absolute beginners may want more detail for some tips, wherever you are in your speaking career you will certainly find some gems to help you become a better, more successful (and profitable!) speaker. Beginners looking for more information should also read "Speak and Grow Rich" and other excellent books on building a speaking career.

A practical and useful book!
This book is a most practical and useful guide for those responsible for serving customers by telephone. As a trainer in the field of customer service skills, I have added this book to the workshop entitled "Customer-focused Telephone Skills." Attendees have rated it as terrific source of information and encourage others to tap into the many tips and techniques offered in this publication.

If you want your call center to be successful, start here.
I believe this book is a 'must read' for every person who answers a telephone, and essential for call center managers. Having managed a call center and now in the call center consulting field, I am very grateful to Terry for taking her time and talent to write what I consider an invaluable training resource. If you want your call center to be successful, this is where to start.

A wonderful handbook for training your employees
Managers remain on the lookout for training materials that will help improve employee performance. Those who have been searching for a telephone training manual can stop here. Using a folksy approach, 1-800-Courtesy addresses the major telephone blunders we're familiar with--and tells how to overcome them. One of the book's most helpful sections explains the DISC system for identifying varied personality styles, and offers advice on how to deal with them over the phone. 1-800-Courtesy is definitely current, giving counsel about home offices, cell phones, voice mail, and other communication trends. This slim volume is a great investment for any organization that wants to put on "a new voice"--which many places sorely need.
