Not as useful as it could be ...
Ive been writing grants for some years now and thought that I could make my life easier by purchasing the CD set. When I recieved the 2004 Guide to Federal Grants, I was immensely disappointed. Instead of creating a useful, cross referenced CD, they simply took webpages and their links and transferred them directly into PDF format. I could have done the exact same thing using Google and Adobe Acrobat. There are no cross-references, no additional information into grants, and tabs were not even written into the PDF to assist with nagivation. Instead, they recommend that you use the "search" feature available with Adobe Reader. It is NOT worth paying their asking price, go to your local NonProfit Resource Center instead or just do a Google search for Federal NonProfit Grant Sites.

Pointless
Save yourself a lot of money and time ... just visit your local NonProfit Resource Center. These CD's are direct burns from government websites with a cheap case and covers. I got them and returned them the same day.

do not buy
It is not from government. Useless disk and don't waste your time and money. Search else where.

Disappointing
The CDROM is essentially a dump of the information found on government websites such as SBA, SEC, etc.

The information is voluminous so if you have a slow modem, there may be some value in purchasing the info on the CDROM for the sake of having it consolidated in one place. You will learn little new if you have already been to the websites.

Also, some of the links on the CDROM do not work properly. You open the page in Adobe Acrobat and receive and error message saying the page has to be opened in a browser. You open the page in a browser and you get a message saying the page has to be opened in Adobe Acrobat.

That kind of foolishness more or less sums up the value of the CDROM from my perspective.

Read before you dive in
A must for anyone considering starting up a business however large or small. The author has interviewed entrepreneurs who have started their own companies - tiny ones you still haven't heard of, all the way up to Domino's Pizza. The insights they give into the pitfalls of company start-ups are priceless and take the reader through from the initial back-of-an-envelope ideas for their businesses right up to their launch and the first faltering footsteps. Even if you avoid one major start-up clanger by reading this book, it will have paid for itself many times over. Invaluable.

20/20 Gold dust
It would be hard to find someone better qualified for a book about successful business practise than Rachelle Thackray. Anyone who has followed her columns in the Independent Newspaper over the last four years - Me and My Partner, The Digerati, My Biggest Mistake - will be familiar with the breadth of the interviewees she has covered, from the music business to deep sea salvage, from hotel designing to ethical farming. She clearly has the ability to not only ask the crucial question but formulate the replies into a priceless objective wisdom. Thoroughly recommended for all prospective or seasoned entrepeneurs, whether to study in one gulp or to pick up intermitently for bite-sized quotes and thoughts. If the book teaches anything, it is that in business you stop learning at your peril.

A must have for everyone.
"I could not put the book down. Even if you have little money to spend to start your website business, this book tells you where to apply that money, to achieve the most possible revenue. From naming your company, to listing with search engines for attracting the most customers to your website. THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL."

"I am researching my product in relations to the Internet following the simple steps Robert lays out in his book. Everything is going as Mr. Wajda states. IT is AMAZING.

I highly recommend this book for everyone. Young and old.

CLEAR, CONCISE, VERY NICE!
This author has an easy, relaxed style of writing that really flows. Something new in a "How-to" book.

Mr. Wajda tells it like it is. He is genuine, honest, and firm, giving the reader the best of what he has learned the hard way.

His facts and figures are not like so many "how-to's" which have ones brain swimming with the "mumbo jumbo". Rather he is clear, concise, and speaks from experience with a personal and disarming touch. Nice! Very nice!

A "must" not only for the "want-to-be" millionaire, but for any dear soul who would like to start a simple "Mom and Pop" establishment. Way to go Mr. Wajda!

A BRILLIANT BOOK!!!!!
I absolutely loved it! First of all, the author doesn't write like a shirt
and tie, he writes from the heart and hands, which is where his drive comes
from.

Many young people will need this kind of reading if they are to succeed in
there own life. Many businesses could learn major things even from the
little bits you are willing to share. I will tell you. I don't read "very"
many books. For the simple fact that they are either too much like a
dictionary, very strange, or just boring. It takes a special book with
something I can absorb either intellectually or spiritually and Robert you
give both in this book. I'm not a smart girl. I will admit. However, I am
smart enough to know your going to do better than you think! The only
thing missing is, it could have been a little longer. I am sure you held
out for certain reasons. I truly hope there will be more.

You have a magnetic sense about the way you write. And it plays a HUGE part
in your success, of course along with your knowledge and knows how, etc...
But it is important and it shows. I almost feel I've known you for a long
time just from this book. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Love the cover too...very
eye catching.

I wish I knew someone like you when I had 67-thousand dollars19 yrs ago and
didn't know what to do with it. Long story, but someone like you would have
come in handy. I was too young, all alone and too frightened and ignorant,
so I just did what a high school drop out would do. I survived on some and
banked the rest. Unfortunately, had one of my parents been alive things
might have been different. But see it's a book like this that can change a
person's life and choices. Your book is a real eye opener.

It certainly got me motivated even in the smallest things that I might want
or want to achieve. Excellent Job! I absorbed it all. God Bless!

Lisa
