This work, which I discovered at the local university design library (thanks to an industrious librarian - thanks go out to her), is a marvelous reference for 34 different applications which are used throughout the graphics design world.

As a business person and, perhaps not professional but certainly more than an amateur, graphics designer, one who is more than familiar with many of the applications discussed, I still found the selection of logos and the author's choice to tie them to SPECIFIC features within the applications presented (such as Photoshop filters), to be invaluable. Indeed, thanks to this work, I have discovered there are some filters in software I currently own that I have never discovered but will now,of a certainty, use.

Perhaps more advanced than an introductory book, for the filters and effects are listed with actual logo art examples of their application but not the various settings to achieve the precise effect presented (which would be an impossible task - we each must play with them to learn their nuances), the work would, I think, be equally invaluable for those trying to decide which of these very expensive software packages to buy.

I wish I had owned it before I spent thousands of dollars on software unsuited to my needs.

Well worth the price..
